Charbel leads the NVIDIA Smart Cities business in EMEA, helping customers and partners to realize the benefit of AI. Charbel has over 20 years’ experience in Fortune 500 and technology startups, bringing digital transformation to living and working urban environments. Previously he worked for Accenture, Cisco and Schneider Electric in global executive roles driving cutting-edge technology transformation projects around the world.
Rita Cucchiara
Professor at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE)
Rita Cucchiara is full professor of Computer Engineering and Science at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. She is the scientific coordinator of the AImageLab at UNIMORE and is the director of the Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation Center – AIRI - as well as the ELLIS Unit of Modena. Her research interests include Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and in particular Multimodal Learning.
Pieter De Backer
MD, Eng., PhD, Head of Innovation, Orsi Innotech
Pieter De Backer leads Orsi Innotech, the AI and innovation team at Orsi Academy, which is one of Europe’s largest surgical training centers. Pieter's team focuses on technology development which directly improves minimal invasive surgery through advanced multimodal AI approaches. More specificallMore specifically, the team applies machine and deep learning techniques to automatically assess and augment surgical performance in real-time. Pieter holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering on the topic of AI in robotic surgery. He was trained as an engineer and is currently finishing his residency in urology. His clinical interests entail minimal invasive surgery and urologic oncology.
Marco De Paoli
Founder and CEO, K2K
With a sociologic background at La Sapienza University in Rome, Marco De Paoli has been visitor at esteemed institutions like CERN, Semeion Research Center and NYU. He has an Engineering Honoris Causa degree from Roger II University in Miami and has been recognized as an Academic of Merit and Honorary Academic from the Norman Academy. De Paoli has produced 100+ intellectual properties related to generative neural network architectures for the management of complex processes, the genesis of information, leveraging video generative AI and generative AI models, LLMs, RAG, foundation models, GANs and both mathematical and genetic algorithms.
Itai Orr, PhD
VP R&D, UVeye
Dr. Itai Orr is an accomplished technology leader with over 17 years of experience in the automotive, semiconductor, and defense sectors. He specializes in deep learning, computer vision, NLP, and signal processing, backed by a multidisciplinary background in physics and engineering. Currently holding the position of VP R&D at UVeye and previously serving as CTO at Wisense Technologies and CEO/Co-Founder at Aerialguard, Itai holds a Ph.D. in deep learning and has numerous patents and publications in top-tier journals such as Nature and Science groups.
Sanjay Bhakta
Global Head of Edge & Enterprise AI Solutions, Centific
Sanjay Bhakta is the Global Head of Edge & Enterprise AI Solutions at Centific, leading generative AI and multimodal platform development infused with safe AI and cybersecurity principles. He’s spent over 20 years, globally in various industries such as automotive, financial services, healthcare, logistics, retail, and telecom. Sanjay’s collaborated on complex challenges such as driver safety in Formula 1, preventive maintenance, optimization, fraud mitigation, cold chain, human threat detection in DoD, and others. His experience includes AI, big data, edge computing, and IoT.
Galit Levin
Senior Manager, AI Innovation, Deloitte
With 15+ years as a Senior Deep Learning Engineer and Algorithm Researcher at Intel and Mobileye, Galit Levin is a leading expert. She holds an MSc from the University of Haifa and a BSc from the Technion. Galit has published "Choosing Most Representative Samples in Deep Learning Datasets" and holds two patents: "Selecting Data for Deep Learning" and "Skeleton Visibility." Her work has significantly advanced deep learning technologies.
Tomer Gal
Managing Director at Deloitte, AI and HPC practice, Deloitte
Tomer Gal is a prominent AI expert specializing in high-performance computing and AI optimization. With over two decades of tech industry experience, Tomer established OpTeamizer in 2015 to provide cutting-edge solutions leveraging NVIDIA technologies, including CUDA-based accelerated computing and edge AI. In January 2024, OpTeamizer was acquired by Deloitte. As part of Deloitte’s Engineering, AI and Data practice, Tomer contributes his expertise to scale high-performance AI solutions globally, focusing on generative AI, edge computing, and talent development. Recognized for his ability to bridge cutting-edge technology with practical applications, Tomer continues to drive AI innovation for diverse industries, enhancing productivity, and solving complex business challenges. Tomer is also a certified NVIDIA DLI lecturer in CUDA and Deep Learning domains, and a computer science faculty member at Braude College of Engineering.
