Speakers

Tarun Paparaju

Data Science Student

Tarun is an undergraduate student at UMass Amherst who is passionate about calculus, mathematical modeling, and data science. He loves solving real-world data science problems, especially in the areas of natural language processing and signal processing using deep learning. He is an open-source contributor to Keras and PyTorch and a Grandmaster at Kaggle. He enjoys writing blogs about his adventures and learnings in data science. Additionally, Tarun loves playing cricket and table tennis. Sports are a large part of his life outside data science and academics.

Ruchi Bhatia

Junior Data Scientist

A 2020 Computer Engineering graduate and currently only the 6th Grandmaster in the Datasets tier on Kaggle, I started my Kaggle journey in the month of May this year and it has been one of my quickest feats. Having started coding at an early age and also having completed my Bachelor’s, I can say my interest in this field has only grown with time. I gravitate more towards Data Science and Data Analysis. Working in the technology sector of various MNCs like Sony and Colgate-Palmolive has given me relevant experience in the industry. As businesses today are becoming more inextricably linked with information technology, I strive to utilize my expertise to bridge the gap between technology and business. My key interests lie solely in sharing my technical expertise with people. I thoroughly enjoy tackling problems pertaining to technology and coming up with novel ideas. I also believe in Kata - the Japanese ideology of thinking before acting which enables me to be able to focus on not only continuous improvement, but also innovation.

Paras Varshney

Data Scientist

Paras Varshney is a Data Scientist at IUDX Programme Unit, Society of Innovation and Technology(SID), IISc Banglore, where he is working on the Research & Development for building a data exchange platform for smart cities. Paras has received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Information Technology. At Kaggle, Paras has achieved a Master tier and two Expert tiers combining 2 gold and 12 silver medals with the highest world ranking as 186 out of 138,000+ data scientists. He also loves writing and his works are published in Towards Data Science(TDS). Apart from that, he also helps junior coders develop programming skills through an online collaborative-based classroom

Sasikumar Ramachandran
