Introduction

Date: Tuesday, June 25, 2024
Time: 9 – 10 a.m. PT
Duration: 1 hour

Join Bryan Catanzaro, VP of Applied Deep Learning at NVIDIA, in his discussion on how the evolution of information technology has impacted the way we generate ideas and create new industries. It'll distinguish connection points between graphics and AI and how it accelerates a new wave of innovation. SIGGRAPH 2024 Frontiers Chair June Kim of University of New South Wales, Sydney, will introduce Bryan’s presentation.

In this webinar, you'll:
  • Learn how generative AI will create the next medium as we shift from a retrieval-based word to a generative world and explore the implications of this shift.
  • Explore real-world examples of specialized AI like NVIDIA Picasso for visual design and NVIDIA DLSS for AI video generation.
  • Have your questions answered in a live Q&A session.
This webinar is presented by NVIDIA and SIGGRAPH 2024 Frontiers Program. NVIDIA will also be at SIGGRAPH 2024 to deliver talks on the latest breakthroughs in generative AI, digital twins, scientific visualization, robotics, and more.

    Bryan Catanzaro
VP, Applied Deep Learning Research, NVIDIA
Bryan Catanzaro is Vice President of Applied Deep Learning Research at NVIDIA, where he leads a team of AI researchers working on multimodal language modeling, chip design, audio and speech, and graphics and vision with the goal of finding practical new ways to use AI for NVIDIA’s products and workflows. He was recently named one of FastCompany’s AI-20 for his role in transforming NVIDIA into an AI company, which started when he created CUDNN, NVIDIA’s first AI product. He helped create DLSS, the most widely deployed neural rendering system, which uses AI to render more than 400 of the most advanced virtual worlds in gaming and design. He headed the Megatron project, which set speed records at scale for training large language models and forms the technical basis for many LLM projects around the industry as well as NVIDIA’s own Generative AI efforts. Bryan has more than 30000 academic citations and received his PhD in EECS from the University of California, Berkeley.
