With three decades of industry experience, Chris Eckardt has diverse experience as an on-set VFX and CG supervisor, cinematographer, creative director, and director across film, television, and commercial projects. Originally joining as one of the founding members of Framestore’s Los Angeles office in 2013, he has since led some of the studio’s top creative campaigns for Z by HP, Nike, Facebook, and Pepsi.
Prior to Framestore, Chris spent time at companies like Pysop in LA as a CG supervisor, as well as Wavefront Technologies, Pixel Envy / Light Matters, and motion design studios such as Stardust, Prologue, and Imaginary Forces. He also co-founded the commercial and music video specialist studio Moneyshots Post, claiming a VMA for Best Visual Effects on OutKast’s hit, “Hey Ya!”
Chris also has over 25 years of experience as an educator, focusing on the entertainment industry, and is currently a professor at Otis College of Art and Design, during which time he has received the Teaching Excellence Award.
Joshua St. John serves as head of creators for Z by HP. He’s a passionate creative technologist with a background in design and digital manufacturing. He and his work have appeared on CNN, Engadget, CNET, SyFy, The Verge, Animal Planet, and more. Joshua is a recovering New Yorker based in Encinitas, California, with his wife and young son. He has lived and traveled across the globe, with notable stints in Brazil, Hong Kong, India, and the UK. He’s an avid photographer, 3D designer, and maker who is always building something in his studio.
Rick Champagne leads Global Media and Entertainment Industry Management for NVIDIA. In this role, Rick works closely with customers and industry partners in the film, TV, and broadcast industries to promote the advancement and adoption of new technologies. With a long history of managing products such as the Autodesk 3ds Max and Maya Entertainment Creation Suites, Softimage, Mudbox, and Painter, Rick has been in the service of artists and technologists for over two decades. Rick maintains close ties to industry as a member of the Visual Effects Society, Hollywood Professional Association (HPA), and Royal Television Society and serves on the Board of Governors of the Advanced Imaging Society and as a committee member of the Academy Software Foundation (ASWF). Rick holds a master's in business administration.
