The world has awakened to the promise of AI - and many now rush to be at the forefront of its development. Companies who started early to develop AI have realized by now that adopting a technology, that shakes many markets in their core-hypothesis is not a sprint, but a long marathon. In this talk, we explore the "journey to AI maturity", its many challenges, and share ideas of how to cope with some of the larger ones. We look at a variety of topics, from AI-application itself (e.g. user-experience) to the development-process (e.g. methodology and platforms) , to the nature of the AI-business (e.g. defendability). Most importantly we discuss the commoditization of AI and how some decisions, taken in early stages of this journey contradict the steps managers and developers alike must take when maturing.
