Deep Dive into NVIDIA's Physics-ML Framework, Modulus
Physics ML is the term that we use at NVIDIA to talk about solving hard engineering problems using AI: problems like optimizing engineering designs, developing virtual sensors, and building digital twins. Until recently, some of these problems were considered impossible due to the great computational requirements of traditional methods. In this talk, we will discuss how Physics ML is changing what is possible. We’ll share some examples, introduce three different types of Physics ML techniques, the skills required to use them, and discuss what NVIDIA is doing to help reduce the barrier to develop and deploy Physics ML solutions.

Pavel Dimitrov is a Senior Solutions Architect at NVIDIA. He helps energy partners and customers discover what is possible with accelerated computing and, most recently, through the use of Physics ML. More broadly, he likes to learn math and to apply it to other fields of knowledge. Prior to NVIDIA, Pavel spent over 12 years in oil and gas collaborating with scientists and engineers on research and development projects resulting in 16 granted patents. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University.
Ram Cherukuri is a senior product manager at Nvidia. In his role, Ram works closely with the Modulus engineering team and end users, to bring new technologies and key capabilities in the area of Physics based machine learning. Prior to NVIDIA, Ram was a senior product manager at MathWorks for code generation and verification products for embedded software development, working with automotive and aero-def customers. He holds a master’s in aerospace engineering from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in the same discipline from IIT Bombay.
Bhoomi Gadhia is a senior product marketing manager at NVIDIA, responsible for the go-to-market strategy and launch of the NVIDIA Modulus platform as well as NVIDIA's climate science and Earth-2 initiatives. Previously, she held various impactful marketing roles at leading technology companies such as Ansys and Hexagon MSC Software. Bhoomi resides in California and holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
