This is a series of webinars aimed at introducing the NVIDIA Isaac platform to the robotics community. The Isaac platform consists of a software development kit (SDK) and simulation solution for industrial and service robots.

The NVIDIA® Isaac SDK is a developer toolbox for accelerating the development and deployment of AI-powered robots. At its core, the SDK includes the Isaac Robot Engine, which is a framework that allows robotics developers to deploy applications on edge devices like the NVIDIA® Jetson Nano™ and NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier™, along with workstations powered by NVIDIA discrete GPUs. The SDK also includes a growing set of sensors of all modalities and high-performance robotics algorithms suitable for both industrial and service robots. The Isaac SDK will accelerate development for manufacturers, researchers and startups by making it easier to add AI into next-generation robots for perception, navigation and manipulation.

By attending this webinar, you'll learn:
  • Program a basic Isaac codelet to control a robot.
  • Create a robotics application using the Isaac compute-graph model.
  • Test and evaluate your application in simulation.
  • Deploy the application to a robot equipped with an NVIDIA Jetson.

Speaker

David Weikersdorfer

Director of Robotics at NVIDIA

David Weikersdorfer, director of robotics at NVIDIA, is leading a robotics team to develop the Isaac SDK, a cutting-edge robotics platform for industrial applications. He was one of the first members of the team and helped develop the software infrastructure from the ground up. Prior to NVIDIA, David was the co-founder of a startup which set the world record for the longest fully autonomous journey of a driverless truck on public highways. He originally comes from Munich, Germany, where he studied Mathematics and did his PhD in computer vision at the TU Munich.

Cenk Oguz Saglam

Robotics Software Engineer at NVIDIA

Oguz works on the NVIDIA Isaac SDK, the company's cutting-edge robotics platform for industrial applications. Previously, he worked on motion control systems at Sabanci University, wall-climbing robots at Carnegie Mellon, and legged locomotion at the University of California Santa Barbara.
