Yordanka Ivanova

Legal and policy officer, European Commission, DG CNECT, Unit A2 Artificial Intelligence

Yordnaka Ivanova is a legal and policy officer who has worked on the recent legal proposal on Artificial Intelligence adopted by the Commission on 21 April, 2021. Besides her work experience in the Commission since 2011, she has also worked as an attorney-at-law advising companies on EU regulations, including in the financial sector. She holds master degrees in Law and International relations from Sofia University (Bulgaria) and an LL.M in EU law from Leiden University (the Netherlands).

Jayant Narayan

Lead - AI & Machine Learning, Technology Policy, World Economic Forum

Jayant Narayan has over a decade of experience in the field of technology and policy. He is currently managing the Global AI Action Alliance at the World Economic Forum – a collaborative platform to accelerate benefits of AI while mitigating its risks. Jayant studied electrical engineering and started his career as a software engineer in the Indian IT industry, working for clients in retail, pharma and automotive industry. He later transitioned to public policy, working on projects related to education and environment, including new and emerging policy areas like India’s law on electronic waste recycling. He has a Masters’ in Public Administration from Columbia University and in his previous roles at the World Economic Forum, has been instrumental in launching the Forum’s Global Lighthouse network – a network of factories leading on technology and innovation. In his most recent role, he was also instrumental in building the strategy and operations for the Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Network as it expanded across 12 countries. He is also part of the strategy team for C4IR India.

Claire Tunley

CEO, Financial Services Skills Commission

Prior to this role, Claire was Head of Skills Policy at City of London Corporation leading on skills and talent policy. In this role, Claire was seconded to the Financial Services Skills Taskforce as subject matter expert on skills; led the creation of a sector deal on apprenticeships between the Professional Business Services Council and government; worked with the Government Equalities Office to create an action-based guide on supporting women’s progression in the work place; and created an innovative partnership with local schools to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain a professional financial services qualification. Claire has worked in skills and economic development in both local and central government roles for over 20 years. Claire is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and is a governor of a secondary academy located in an area of deprivation and is the nominated lead governor for careers. Claire has an MA(Hons) in Town Planning from Heriot-Watt University.

Salla Franzén

Group Chief Data Scientist, SEB AB

Salla Franzén is the Group Chief Data Scientist at SEB. She leads a team of data scientists working on machine learning and visualization for the bank. She is involved in the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software research program, a 12 year initiative to create excellent academic research in these areas.

Joost van der Burgt

Senior Policy Advisor Fintech and Artificial Intelligence, De Nederlandsche Bank (Central Bank of The Netherlands)

Joost van der Burgt is a Senior Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence and Fintech at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), the prudential regulator of The Netherlands. Before he joined DNB in August 2015, Joost worked in the Strategy and Risk Analysis department at the Dutch Financial Markets Authority (AFM) for four years, where he also focused on FinTech and the implications of technological innovation for the financial sector. Joost earned a BSc in Business Studies from Fontys University Eindhoven, a BA in Philosophy from Tilburg University, an MA in Political Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc in Risk Management from VU University School of Business and Economics and he is currently pursuing a BSc in Artificial Intelligence at VU University Amsterdam

Badr Boussabat

President & Co-Founder, AI TOGETHER

Badr Boussabat is an AI Author, AI Speaker and TEDx Speaker. His book “AI: our best hope” is one the most widely read books in French-speaking countries. He is also the President & Founder of AI TOGETHER, a NGO that gathers the most eminent leaders of AI to promote the use of artificial intelligence. He is also a Management Committee Member of the Belgian Finance Center and an independent advisor to the private and public sector on AI in Economics. Finally, he is an AI chronicler on the first news media in Belgium LN24.
